Winterfest Ladder Season. Back in the day there were no daily AT's - people played Seasons. At the end of each Season the top 16-32 teams in the Ladder would participate in Seasonal playoffs to earn the glorious gold trim for their guild. During the Winterfest Ladder Season finale only Core and Nightfall skills were allowed to use, leading to a bunch of interesting builds even though most of them were spike builds. The Guilds Ominous Latin Name [tag] was a guild with quite the potential, cause they were able to run a bunch of different play-styles. Unfortunately the guild didn't last long, but the members "Jatt", "Asp", "Torsen" and "Jaden Stone" stayed together and later joined the guild Rebel Rising [rawr]. Peace And Harmony [PnH] was found at the end of 2005 and has a lot of history in competitive Guild Wars including the Winterfest Ladder Season win earning them their first and only gold trim. Furthermore, the guild has finished in the top 20 at least five different times and continued playing together till June 2007. The Game Peace And Harmony [PnH] joins the Semi-Finale battle with a spike build and moves the short way along their base towards the vine seed bridge in order to cut off Ominous Latin Name [tag] from a potential split way to not get into an uncomfortable position. However, once they got their they had to realize Ominous Latin Name [tag] prepared themselves with a hex-pressure-gimmick build. Confident in their ability to spike through Ominous Latin Name [tag]'s defense they stayed in that position and even scored the first kill in the game right at the 3:00 minute mark. Eventually the pressure built up on them and they took a death at 4:48, followed by a second death at 4:52 and even a third one at 5:11 resulting in Peace And Harmony [PnH] retreating over the flag stand towards their base. During this process they took another death at 5:20 slowing down their retreat. Around 7:08 [tag] earns their first moral boost of the game and ultimately pushed [PnH] back into their own base. [PnH] however, finally managed to score their second kill of the game at 9:07, followed by another one at 9:18 leading to them pushing out of their base right after [tag] got their second moral boost. Just now when [PnH] moved up to the flag stand their number 4 got killed while running in the flag at 10:46 to prevent another moral boost. Due to the death and the loss of their flag [PnH] had to retreat again. This time the team couldn't cover a proper drawback and [PnH] suffered from 3 more deaths. At the 12 minute mark [PnH]'s players respawned and found themselves in the same position as before - defending their base. It took [PnH] almost 2 minutes to score a kill and burn enough of [tag]'s monks energy to push them out of their base. This time [PnH] didn't go after them and stayed in their base while [tag] took that to get a little break, in order to recover energy before going in again. Around the 17 minute mark one of [PnH]'s spikes got through and they killed #7 from [tag] allowing [PnH] to push [tag] back, scoring a second kill, capping the flag and securing a good position. The next 2 minutes both teams were fighting at the flag stand doing their best to not lose any ground before "Victory or Death!". It's minute 20, "Victory or Death!" begins and [PnH] starts their big bluff. They pretend to go for a fight at the stand until 20:40 when they suddenly drawback and move towards [tag]'s vine seed bridge. It looks clearly like a "Gank" and poses a big threat to [tag]'s Guild Lord! [tag] is immediately drawing back from the stand to protect their Guild Lord, but only a few seconds later [PnH] turns around, moves back to the stand area and starts slaughtering [tag]'s NPCs. [tag] realizes they are losing their advantage and one of them splits into [PnH]'s base to force an unexpected situation. [PnH] send their runner back to defend the mesmer from [tag] and once they understood that the illusion mesmer could and will kill the runner they also send a mesmer and a monk back. [tag]'s #5 manages to kill the runner and gets killed after the 22 minute mark. That move however got [tag] back into the game, cause they could slowly reduce [PnH]'s NPC advantage. The fact that they even kept running flags and [PnH] responded in doing the same basically killed [PnH]'s last NPCs and put the team under alot of pressure. Knowing that they would never win this game at the flag stand [PnH] tried a desperate move. Their whole team ran to [tag]'s vine seed bridge and this time all their damage dealers went through leaving their monks to block the path. The block which wouldn't even last 15 seconds bought enough time for [PnH] to kill the Guild Lord from [tag] and moving onto the finales!
